The Basics

It's 10:30 PM here and I'm exhausted.  Half the team spent the entire day on the top of the LIFE Center building a new metal roof over the balcony to make an additional classroom.  (Pics to follow soon.)

Rob and Greg built a room today in one of the other team member's homes and then came and helped us put the roof up.

Carol started her day off having a great discussion with multiple women from Iraq.  She can tell you all about that when she gets home as I'm sure she is much more detailed than I could ever be!

And then following the work we were all able to take hot showers for the first time in a couple days so that was nice to wash off the stink and dirt.

Tonight we had our second experience helping teach English classes.  It is truly a blast to meet with these folks who have been through so much in their lives.  They are joyful despite years of being refugees in their own land.  I'm sure underneath it all is a lack of hope and lots of pain...but that's why we're here.  To help build a place that will last for years and hopefully enable our workers here to go deeper with these folks.

Now it's time to go to bed.

Pray for us that we would maintain a positive attitude, finish well, and that we would have opportunities to share the good news of the hope we have.

Good night.
