After a frustrating day of power outages and heavy rain and lightning we were renewed by English classes tonight.
Classes at the LIFE Center start at 7:30, yet people started showing up at 7. They have a true hunger to learn and it's endearing. As always there is a lot of sitting around talking about family, jobs, and life. It's a great opportunity to grow relationships with these folks that so desperately need hope in a dark world. According to Matt: "If the trip ended tonight it was all worth it."
Today Carol had the opportunity to go and meet with some women at a shop across town. She was able to hear one woman's story about her life in Baghdad and the subsequent flight from Baghdad. I'll let her tell the rest of the story when we get back.
Thank you for supporting us in this venture. More to come tomorrow. I'll work on getting some photos up.
