From Tasha:
Good Morning!
The team is having a great cultural and spiritual experience here. One thing is for sure: After we leave Mexico, our view of our lives, our country and our God is never going to be the same. I know now to prepare my heart to be challenged.
At church on Easter Sunday, the praise and worship was amazing (to say the very least). The songs were all familiar to us so we could sing along in English, which was great. The second song the worship team sang hit my soul from the introduction, but I doubted it was really what I thought it was. Well, God has a sense of humor and such a heart of compassion. Would you believe they sang, “You Are Good” By: Israel Houghton? We do that song at our church and everyone loves it. One of the things I told the ladies I was most looking forward to was hearing people praise the Lord in a different language. I was desperate to realize God as an international God. I won't tell a lie, when that worship leader sang that line in Spanish, I cried. “People from every nation and tongue, from generation to generation, we worship You”. I got so emotional over that and had to thank Him for being who He is. He is still God in Mexico just as much as He is in The States. All of the people, both young and old worshiped with such open hearts and thanksgiving.I have been challenged to stretch myself a lot in my life lately. God has been shifting and changing a lot of things, specifically bringing me to places, people and things that I am not at all accustom to. Working on the church and the house today under the Sun was taxing. I'm finding it hard to work in the scorching heat. It helps me to sing worship songs while I work because it reminds me that I'm doing this for the Lord. I have to keep telling myself that this is my worship to Him.
My love language with God is and has been music. I sing and paint, sing and sand and sing and sweep to keep my heart in the right place. I have to remember that it is as much about what I'm doing and how much I'm getting done as it is about God. It's the only way I don't complain. I don't have it in me to work with my hands all day in the Sun. I don't have it in me to stay in Delta Estacion on my own. The experience is far beyond me and my life experiences so I won't even attempt to do this in my flesh. I tag Jesus in at every opportunity I can because The Holy Spirit knows the need more than I do and can give me the grace to meet it. After a long days work, we all go out to an ice cream stand not too far from the hotel and grab coconut ice cream. The youth group from Redding, CA is phenomenal! We are getting along with them so much. They are a very cheerful group. Remember to keep us in your prayers as we accomplish so much in our projects and God in our hearts.

From Beth:
It's all buena in Mexico!
We started Tuesday by meeting with Rick and Tammy early for prayer. This is something we do everyday. What a great way to start the day in the presence of the Lord, in the glow of His goodness and most of all remembering and refocusing on why we are here. To God be the glory!
In God's strength yesterday we were able to raise all 4 wall on a new church for Pastor Francisco. As we painted the walls, we could begin to imagine our new friends praising, worshiping, praying and most of all souls being saved and lives changed. Halleluhia!
The work is hard and it is hot but God is so good. He send an occasion breeze to remind us He is with us and sent us each other to keep our spirits high with constant encouragement and love. Thank you Lord for bringing each of us here! Your love is amazing!!
Love never fails,

Tasha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy you are doing what God is calling you to do, getting closer and deeper with Him. I've always loved the way God spoke to you and through you with music. It's a gifting that I have always admired about you, and to see that God is allowing you to use that gifting with others(especially in a different language) is great.!!!! I am so excited to see what God is doing with you and your team. Everyone seems so cool and down to earth. They better treat you right!!!!! j/k :-) The pictures are great. I am praying for you and your team. I pray that God reveals all the secrets He has stored for you and I pray as you sing and work under the scorching Mexico sun, the angels join along with you as the spirit gives you more strength to do more work. Remember, sunblock, sunblock, sunblock!!!! Black does crack, if you didn't know it by now lol. I love you and I'm praying for you. - Kisha Pierre
