From Rachel Frysztacki...

Greetings from Camden!
Our team has been serving alongside the staff here at UrbanPromise all week, working in their summer camps and doing afternoon work projects. We are working at Camp Saved, which is a camp for 1st through 4th graders in Downtown Camden. We are making great connections with the kids at camp! Thank you for your prayers in this.
The other day, in Bible class, the students made banners where they wrote what they thought of when they heard the words Jesus, family, love, and Camden. We enjoyed, but were challenged by what the kids wrote. Many wrote that they love Camden, that God cares about Camden, or that we need to clean up Camden. One 8 year old wrote "I hate Camden" and when Alyssa asked her why, she said it was because too many people die. It was powerful for us to see that the kids are completely aware of their environment, and they want it to change, but now they need to be equipped to change it. Through speakers and discussions, we are being educated on some of the things that can help prepare these kids to make a change in their neighborhoods.
For our work project, we are organizing the basement in the UrbanPromise student center, which is where most donations are stored. It has been a great time for our team to connect and work together, and also see how much the ministry has been blessed with donations!
Please continue to pray for unity as we interact among our team and also with others here in the ministry. Pray for strength and energy so that we can finish strong, and ask God for unique ways that we can continue to minister to this community once we leave the city. Thank you for your prayers and support!
Blessings,
Rachel Frysztacki
