the new blog flees the country

In 12 hours our team of seven from FAC will head for Paris > Istanbul > Iraq.
The team has a great chemistry and I look forward to how God is going to move among us through the work we'll be involved in as well as the challenges.

The first rule of short term trips is to be ready to adapt and have the plans changed constantly.  This trip is no exception.

The church we were looking to partner with financially in Iraq has been fully funded.  Praise God $210,000 came in over the last couple of weeks.  They now have the money they need to go ahead with building.  However, my first thought was, "That's great...now what is FAC's role going to be in all of this!?"

I know, though, that we serve a good God whose plans can be trusted.  In my life I've learned that when I rush things and grab the helm it typically turns out poorly.  So in this case I literally threw up my hands and washed them of MY plans.  We're headed out knowing that we don't know what may come of this...and I love that feeling.

Please pray for the trip...that we would see how God is working, that we would be an encouragement to the "international workers" there, and that we would have wisdom.

I will do what I can to update this regularly, but no guarantees!  Peace!
