As Wednesday comes to a close, we have already reached the halfway point of our trip. It seems like our time here is flying by. It was another hot day here of painting and building the church for Fransico. Did I mention it was HOT? We go through a lot of sunscreen and water! This afternoon was also our first day of VBS. We were thankful to have a good turnout! Joyce and Janet did a great job using a puppet to teach the story of the loaves and the fishes, and Trish introduced the kids to potato sack racing using pillow cases. They loved it! We ended the afternoon by playing soccer with the kids. In true form, I wiped out on the soccer field! Some things stay the same even in Mexico!
Prior to this trip, Satan came at me with full force trying to prevent me from coming to Mexico. I thank God that He has given me so much confirmation that He wanted me to be on this team and to be on this trip. I have been blessed to get to know the other members of the team on a much deeper level. Working side by side, we have shared our stories with each other, cried together and laughed together. My prayer for this trip was for God to use me- to allow me to be His hands and feet. As is always the case when we serve Him, I feel like I have been doubly blessed in return. I have been amazed at how God has blessed me this week and my hope continues to be that I can be a blessing to someone here in Mexico.
