Today was exciting! It started with a great flight from Istanbul to Sully in northern Iraq. We had an issue with customs on arrival but experienced a miracle. We will tell you all about it when we return to New Jersey!
When we arrived at The Life Center, we received a tour of the Center given by DJ, who is also an amazing photographer who has his pictures on display in the Center. Scott provided us with an introduction to Kurdistan, complete with comprehensive information about the region and its people. Cathy, Michele and Matt accompanied DJ on an excursion to a local fruit stand and butcher shop. The architecture here is very different and gorgeous, but there are many beautiful buildings sitting right next to unfinished concrete structures on dirt roads!
We were blessed to share dinner with the amazing team here who made us a fabulous meal. The team and their children are beautiful and special people. After dinner we practiced our songs and enjoyed some fellowship. All in all our first day was spectacular!---Paul Ferraro
