West Virginia Update #2

From Karen Parker

Our team members are:  the Bartholomews (Rob, Susan, Sarah and Robert), David C. and the Parkers (Bob, Karen, Callyn and Braedon)

We're working at New Covenant Church in Junior, WV. This is a small church and daycare center. They are in need of a new roof

and some powerwashing and fresh paint.

While waiting for supplies we scrubbed a play yard for the daycare and weeded around the property. The supplies for the roof arrived an hour before we needed to leave but we were able to accomplish quite a bit in that short time!

This church can hold about 100 people but averages 15 to 20 people each week!  That's about the size of a mini church at FAC!  We wonder if there are too many churches as we passed 12 on our way to the work site!  They are all small and most seem to be struggling.  The daycare seems to be doing well but they lacked the manpower to get the toddler play yard cleaned after the winter. We hope to have that completed this week as well as the roof. We will be powerwashing the stairs and ramp. Hopefully we'll be able to get it stained this week. We are excited to give this church a makeover and praying it will draw more people.
