Long Beach 9/27

From Steve:

Today we awoke to another sunny day with mild temperature and breeze as well as birds singing outside the windows. We went to the family place again to continue projects. All of this feels funny to a degree because i have never before worked on a building made completely of tile and concrete, nor have i ever worked on a building that is two hundred years old. almost feels like you are disturbing something sacred, and yet it is very exciting to think about the good things that will happen when the work is completed and this place opens. the fellowship of the brothers continues to be sweet, with much laughter mingled with serious discussion.

From Jim:

One of my favorite things about my "job" is being able to walk with people into a new culture and new relationships.  We are having a great time working with some other locals in the building as well as having the opportunity to meet with a believer here.  Steve also had the chance to share the good news with a guy today which was awesome to be a part of.  That's ultimately why we're here and why we support those who will stay for the long haul.

Here are some more photos from our day...take a look at the welding mask Ryan had to design for himself.  We figured the yellowish sunglasses the hardware store guy gave him for welding weren't going to cut it.
Ryan welding with his awesome mask.

Brian and Steve building a new closet system

Ed painting the kitchen...and his hair.

Nick sanding the bunk-beds which are almost finished.
