From Brian:
It is hard to believe we are almost done our time here. Today was a remarkable day. The kitchen got completed including the delivery of the appliances. The coffee bar got the finishing touches and polished out. You can see the local guy below with us. We completed building the closets in a preschool room and varnished all the bunk beds we built.
Our host was sharing with us her dreams for a sound system at the Family Center and wanted to know if Nick and I could help her pick one out. So we had lunch with a local business adviser and he also just happens to have a background in sound so we picked his brain on how and where to purchase a system locally. So our host, Nick, and I decided to go on an adventure after lunch to see what we could get. It was quite the experience driving through a crowded city to an even more crowded part of the city. We finally found a parking spot a set-off on several block journey looking for the electronics stores.
Well we passed through a back alley market area where you could buy about anything. Some of the things we saw were jeans, watches, hanging cow heads, and other parts of animals, shoes, shirts and well the list goes on. We finally got to electronics row and after several stores and 2 hrs of looking and negotiating we purchased everything she wanted and only used half of what was budgeted. Praise God. So Nick and I now realized we had to get all of this gear to the car that was several blocks away. So we loaded up everything on our shoulders and proceeded to carry it through the park and and down the streets all the way back to the car. Our host was excited that we got everything on her list and we went back to the center and unloaded the gear and the went home for dinner.
Our team decided we wanted to encourage our hosts so we went back and installed the entire system in one night. We can't wait until we see the joy on her face tomorrow when she hears it for the first time. I must say this an amazing team and works well together. I truly feel blessed to be able to serve with these guys, at this time in this location. Thank all of you that are praying and supporting us.
